Field Trip: Spring Creek Watershed - SICKLY EATERS

Field Trip: Spring Creek Watershed

9:17:00 PM

I post this before I proceed to write a 4000 essay on this very subject... I enjoyed the trip. I may not enjoy the essay as much.
This post will be sort of a National Geographic picture and caption post. Things that I picked out and wanted to remember and take note of. But enjoy the pretty Autumn scenes. :]

 Galbraith Gap Trail

Hemlock: Acidic Soil, population decline due to Wooly Adelgid

Japanese stilt grass: Invasive

Rhododendron: Native; acidic soils; shade loving

2nd Stop
Can you spot the bird?

Leafless trees - Black Walnut First to drop, last to sprout.

Dead Raccoon... :[

Sugar Maple

Natural Spring: purest water in the area

White Pine

Opening a Black Walnut, it's surprisingly sweet!
