Weekender Diaries: the Mosaic District//Annandale - SICKLY EATERS

Weekender Diaries: the Mosaic District//Annandale

1:22:00 AM

There are some days that just seem like absolutely nothing can dampen your spirits. I was lucky enough to have an entire weekend.... Here's the photo diary.

I think I only just realized recently how much I love seafood. We went to a place called Chasin' Tails which may actually be my new favorite restaurant of all time. Great food, awesome atmosphere, and really crazy great service. We only ordered 3 things but we were pretty well satisfied by the end of it.

Vince actually hates all raw seafood but he spoiled me and got the oysters which I'd been eyeing. I was so embarrassed, touched, and excited about them that I forgot to take a picture. X.X  But let me tell you... they were b-e-a-utiful. <3

Actually... before we even got our food. The worst thing that could ever happen on a date HAPPENED, Vince actually accidentally knocked his water on to me. I guess we've just been together too long or something because after it happened we both kind of just sat there laughing.

One of the servers walked past and didn't notice at first and did an adorable crazy double take and was like "Oh NOO~!"  And all of a sudden there was just a whirlwind of workers and towels, we switched tables and I was completely dry. The seafood bib they put on us actually caught all the water.

We also got the crawfish (of course) and the mussels both of which were altogether mouthwatering, I think we got the medium and "OH DANG" sauces which I highly recommend.;P

Each bag comes with a potato and a piece of corn which made me very happy, very happy indeed.

And then we went to a truly lovely grocery store called MOM's which is a family owned store based on sustainability. Read about some of their sustainable practices here!

We bought bread which had been lauded by a friend and some tea and red wine for dinner that night. I  think Vince is trying to get into red wine since it's the only alcohol with any real health benefits.

After MOM's we headed across to Anthropologie where I wanted to look at some new bed sheets and look at the only things I can afford there... mugs... <3

Anthropologie is like a wonderland, it makes me feel so wistful. I wish I could buy everything in this store.

THIS STORE> ugh. can't even.... Stationary. wants..... I really needed a calendar but they were wayy to expensive for me.

Tea shop.

Tea pot whistler! Vince really wanted the glass teapots here. Not sure why, he doesn't even drink tea! ;P

Japanese tea set!

I asked Vince if he would ever use this and he was like "Uhm... not sure I want a guy soaking in my hot water and making it a different color." it's a bit like the little guy peed in the water to make the tea ;P

Gelato!!

I loved the floor and the general aesthetic of the place.

He got the Indonesian Vanilla Bean Gelato, I got the Orange Honey Cardamom and the White Peach Prosecco Sorbettos. The nice man serving me said the Orange Honey was his favorite, and we could definitely see why, it was so delicious. Vince couldn't help stealing some. ;P

The Sorbetto Line

Nyom

We ended up going back to the tea shop because we'd promised the nice lady we'd come back for the bubble tea.... yeah, worst decision ever.... so expensive and not even good. So not worth it, we were so disappointed. That cup was like 9 dollars.

My first Korean barbecue. The host here must have thought we were Korean and asked us in korean how many were eating. Vince and I were both flustered but pretty much understood and he replied 2 in English. The host spoke to us in English for the rest of the night haha!

We couldn't eat the meat fast enough! a lot of it got overcooked but it was still good!!

Green Tea ice cream!

This metro is full of emotions for me... It has my hope and excitement when I arrive and my sadness and contemplation when I leave. But I'll still remember it fondly because Vince is almost always there riding with me.
