The 12 days of... Thanksgiving?
10:56:00 PMMy dear reader,
On account of the Thanksgiving/Holiday festivities, I have made a rash and rather ambitious decision to post a blog post everyday for the week of, and after, Thanksgiving (excluding Sundays because, sabbath... and I already missed one).
Thanksgiving has become a rather important holiday for me. And it seems to be the holiday that people are least angry... at least until Black Friday. I stay at home in silent protest at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. (Still shop online though, girl can't resist a good deal)
I swear, we Americans have somehow managed to turn every holiday into a grumpfest. Honestly, think about it. New years - crowded boozing and empty promises, Valentine's Day - pressured love and I'd say frankly shamefully manipulative consumerism, St.Patrick's Day- mindless boozing and cultural disrespect to anyone who is actually Irish and cares, Halloween- ... pranks and ignorance of origin... I could go on...ok, this came off pretty cynical.
My point is! I love Thanksgiving because, for the most part, it has retained most of the same good intentions that made it a holiday in the first place. I respect and celebrate that.
SO. You're invited to the 12 days of Thanksgiving! Blog posts galore. Pictures will be complete rubbish because I don't have my camera but I'll try to actually make the blogs interesting.
Hope I haven't scared you off with all that holiday stuff... too late.
Oh well, if you're still here... get ready for what's to come...
