Shenandoah National Park - SICKLY EATERS

Shenandoah National Park

12:30:00 AM

"I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery - air, mountains, trees, people. I thought "This is what it is to be happy."

Silvia Plath, The Bell Jar

So the summer break has been a plethora of impromptu family outings. One of them being driving out to the Shenandoah National Park. It was probably one of the most needed spontaneous trips that me and my family needed. Being in the concrete jungle unknowingly took a toll on our mental health and overall well being.

Just like everything else in life, I always get this deeper appreciation of something when I'm neglected of it for some time. This time it was nature and just being around the green life escaping from the chaotic, noisy life of social pressures and personal stresses. The trip really allowed me to have the luxury of mental clearance and purification of the mind. So go take a walk in a trail and appreciate the life around you- the vibrance of the colors, the smell of flowers and trees around, and the fresh air that is filtered freely by the green life around you.
