The British use a rather appropriate phrase to describe days like today... (see title)
It's been so miserable back here at the university. Cold and wet is never a nice thing when it comes to the weather, unless of course you're in California during a period of severe drought. Anyhow, I realize I've missed a couple days of blogging. I am a bit upset at myself, but I just really didn't feel like writing anything. And blog posts where I have no motivation are absolute crap so you wouldn't have wanted to read them anyways.

With that said, the only thing that made me want to post today was a shining  moment in a cold and rainy day. Hot bubble tea and sweets.

I didn't take a picture of the tea because it was already gone by the time I got back and it wasn't worth taking a picture of generic coffee cup anyways. But hot bubble tea is one of my favorite things in the world. It's really hard to mess up, even mediocre bubble tea shops can make a decent hot bubble tea. Basically, the starch in the bubbles sometimes harden in cold tea if not made properly, so being heated improves the texture and the taste of the tea itself.

The real stars of the show today, however, are the sweets-- strawberry mousse cake and the creme brulee. They were so surprisingly good that it genuinely made my day that much better. I ate them while I tried to figure out how to write my Christmas cards. Which all came out pretty depressing despite the happiness of the sweets. Ah, well. Words are cheap, anyways.
