Café Crawl: Café One Eight and The Airstream - SICKLY EATERS

Café Crawl: Café One Eight and The Airstream

1:48:00 PM

Cafe One Eight is just around the corner from Central Market. Its a small cafe with a quaint style. It seems like a nice place to stop for a quick lunch on-the-go, or in this case, an almondmilk, iced spiced-chai. I sat in the window seat again, my favorite space in a cafe, since it's usually empty and I get an excuse to people-watch.

The café is decked out in weathered wood and painted brick, two things that I deeply appreciate. But it might be the lack of soft things and pops of color that makes me feel like it's not a place that I would sit and stay with my laptop to edit a blogpost.

Or it could just have been the effect of that man over there clearly only staying there to wait for his drink, or the fact that my job interview was in 15 minutes and I needed to leave anyways. Trust me, it's a lovely place. Its just a bit too echoey for me.

It reminds me a lot of the rooms in Falling Water where the room is designed to push your vision to make you want to go outside, especially on such a lovely day. The full length glass windows are really a great touch since the the rest of the cafe is solid wall and brick.

After my interview, I stopped by the Pop-Up Park right next to (again, hopefully) my new job, which is just out of frame to the right.  Funnily enough, that silver Airstream used to be the home of Passenger Coffee, until they managed to fund their current location they affectionately call their brick and mortar shop.

But now it's the home of TACOS Lancaster, which I do believe is a little off-shoot of Prince Street Cafe, at least, according to the receipt. The thing I love about Lancaster is that the customer service (at least in the local shops) is always so friendly. In all of the places I've visited so far, I haven't had a bad experience in any one of them. The taco was great by the way, the tortilla was a bit spongy which I didn't expect but, what do I know?

I didn't see this until after I ordered x.x must try this next time.

I love the diveristy in the city and the Pop Up Park is such a good idea. I can't wait to be working right next to it. Highly recommend checking it out!
